Personal EU

personaleu.eu is a website developed and maintained by the Finnish Kurt Linderoos ("Mr. Personal EU"), which introduces the Personal EU concept. 

Central concept: TeamFinder.

At the heart of the initiative is a digital tool that would connect EU citizens across borders.

Personal Teams: The idea is to automatically form teams with one member from each EU country.

Shared Values: Team members would be selected based on life values, hobbies and development ideas.

Objective: To bring the European Union closer to citizens at the "grassroots" level and strengthen the unity of the Union through personal networks. 

Other themes of the website

People-oriented EU: The initiative emphasizes putting people at the center of the EU's goals in the era of digitalization.

PPPP model: The concept of "Politic-Public-Private-Person", describes the diverse role of the individual in society.

Continuation: The concept has been developed and presented to decision-makers in Brussels since 2006, and the site is still actively updated to reflect the current digital decade. 

Personal EU serves as a platform for a vision in which technology (such as artificial intelligence and algorithms) helps build a European identity at the individual level.

How the project has been promoted

1. Direct contacts with EU decision-makers: the European Commission and members of the European Parliament.

In Brussels, Linderoos has presented the Personal EU concept directly to decision-makers.

Letters: Numerous proposals and reports on the initiative have been sent to various Commission departments (such as DG Connect, which is responsible for digital content).

2. Public debate and networking

The project has been made known from the "grassroots" level upwards:

Events: The concept has been presented at various seminars and innovation events.

Media influence: Opinion pieces and articles have been written on the topic, especially from the perspective of digital unity.

3. Conceptual development (The "White Paper")

Several versions and vision papers have been prepared for the project, which have defined, among other things:

PPPP model: (Politic-Public-Private-Person) model, which has sought to show how an individual person (Person) can be included in the traditional three-way relationship.

Utilization of algorithms: A theory has been developed on how artificial intelligence could automatically form "TeamFinder" teams.

4. Cooperation with other actors

Although Personal EU is largely a private initiative, it has sought to link itself to a wider European debate:

Identity politics: It has sought to provide solutions to the crisis of European identity.

Digital Decade: In recent years, efforts have been made to link the project to the EU's "Digital Decade 2030" goals.

Current status:

The project is a proposal and a vision. It has not become official EU legislation, but it has served as a discussion starter on how technology could strengthen the Union in a humane way instead of bureaucracy.

As the father and promoter of the Personal EU concept for decades, I appeal to the key figures in the European Union's digital services to accept and implement this increasingly vital initiative as part of the ongoing digital decade. 

This initiative strengthens the Union by promoting lasting Union-wide connections between citizens. The initiative emphasises putting people at the heart of the EU's objectives and in line with the European Declaration of Digital Rights and Principles. With the Personal EU TeamFinder, citizens could form personal peer groups across the Union, which would improve cooperation in the common interest and promote sustainable development.
